.....today was that it was blooming freezing! Zero degrees C the whole time. No chance whatever of perspiration.
I've set myself a goal of running at least 30 mins every time I go out, and am edging it upwards. Today's total? 13 miserable minutes. Well, I suppose it had a 3 in it but that's about as positive as I can be about it. It was just so cold. I had longer running bottoms on, more layers & thicker gloves but my fingers were just getting colder and colder and colder. Usually there comes a point when they start to warm up and it's all toasty from then on but there was no sign of it this morning. And we've passed the Equinox now; come on, weather, let's have a bit of warmth.

Couldnt agree more, its chuffing cold. But I still sweat like a mad woman. Thats the layers of fat I suppose. Come on sun, where are you hiding? - Karen
Oh, I feel for you. Well I would if my fingers were not so numb with cold! Sorry bad joke, as I too know the agony of frozen fingers. I suffer with poor circulation in my hands and am still in two pairs of gloves. When it's been -5°C I've needed thick gloves over my thin pair, and more recently at zero, I've had two pairs of thin gloves. At about +5C I've been out in capri length running tights and only a long-sleeved top (and pushed the sleeves up) and still need gloves. I get to a point where my wrists are hot, like the rest of me, but still my fingers are cold.
Like you, most of the time I run in capri-length running tights (such a good look on a bloke!), even through the cold. But this morning it was fleecy cycling leggings and still cold. I've also got poor circulation in a couple of fingers which doesn't help. Objectively, zero degrees C isn't that cold but psychologically, at this time of year when it should be warming up, it felt much colder!
Why is it that the leg between lower knee and foot even when bare does not feel the cold, I run in 3/4 length capris all year round. I did buy some full length running leggins but don't like them. As for gloves, I need them when its cold too, I hate cold fingers, they ache!!
No contest indeed. Once the better weather arrives, I'll be out there with everyone else, enjoying the fresh air, the sun and the heat on my back. I was lucky enough to be in Lisbon last week and happily ran through the city. But back here, with driving rain, ice, snow, slush and today's bitter cold? Nah.
BRRR! I'm shivering just thinking about it (:->)
