I'm getting very excited and wishing it was Monday week. Husband/running partner has had a hernia repair and can't run before Monday week...or drive us to park where we'll run. I'm exercising hard at home with Lesley Sansone's "5 mile walk" DVD but have done it so long I'm bored.

Reading everyone else's blogs gives my inspiration and makes me think that I, a once grossly overweight 66 year old, can become a jogger...NO - a runner. As I type I can't believe I'm really saying that. I don't think I've run since I was 11. My parents always called me stiffy and I played goalie in hockey because there wasn't much running involved! Can I really do beyond the first week?

Course you can! And good for you for giving it a try. Hope your enthusiasm doesn't wane before Monday week and husband feels better soon!

Just believe in the programme and believe in yourself and you will be fine.. I didn't think I would ever be able to run for 20 minutes but I did it today. Best advice I ever got was take it slowly.

Good luck and hope hubby is fit and well very soon. :-)

It's a really good idea to build up the walking first - great preparation. I'm looking forward to reading your blogs when you get started, so you can't duck out now! :)

Yes Greenlegs that's why I started the blog before I began the course. I'm committed now. I think I'll manage the first week not too badly from what you all say about it but I think I'll have big problems along the way after that. How many of you had to repeat weeks?

So far I haven't had to repeat any, but thats not to say I won't. Each new week I keep thinking I will never be able to run that long, but each week I have. :-) You will be surprise at how quickly you build on each week.
