I posted a few days ago that illness stopped me doing this run. Anyway, yesterday I felt a bit better and thought I'd go out and get it done. It was definitely the hardest session I'd done and ill-advised because today I felt rubbish again. My enthusiasm for C25k got the better of me this time. Now there's something I never thought I'd be writing.
I'll have to wait a few days at least before starting again as I think I'm going to be off work tomorrow with this thing Can I ask generally what's the rule with illness and running? I had read that if you don't have a temperature it's ok to go out with a cold. I think my mistake was this is something a bit different to a cold.

While I was doing the program and since, I have suffered from the odd cold etc. Some of my runner friends had various bits of advice such as if it is above the neck then run, below, dont. I tried this advice with a cold (above the neck right?) and felt awful afterwards, ended up having a week off from running.
Thing was I didnt feel well enough to run on that occasion. I now just go with whether I feel well enough or not. I dont use it as an excuse but I figure if its better if I miss one run, maybe two than go for the run and end up missing more than if I hadnt! If I do go out I take it a little slower and dont necessarily run for as far, I listen to what my body says. Hope that helps, hope you feel better soon
I agree, if you don't feel like you should be running then don't - you will probably make things even worse.
My lesson was after a day of overseeing some office moves, I should have been just directing what was happening, but that isn't my style so I was pitching in with moving desks, lugging stuff up and down the corridor etc - problem was it was my running day, and like you, even though I was exhausted I felt I had to do it. I bumped into one of my colleagues in the gym who said 'I'm surprised to see you here after all the running round you've already done today, you don't want to overdo it', 'I'm fine, I said' - famous last words!!! About 5 minutes into the run I felt something in my calf muscle and I couldn't continue. I was limping for about 3 days and missed a week of running, not to mention another week of easing back into it before I could get back to where I was.
You know your own body and it's limits, if you feel that something is going to be too much then it probably is
