I get this dull pain when I try to extend my leg sitting in a chair as shown in NHS knee exercises. should I be worried ? When Walking I have no pain but I walk with a slight limp keeping my knees slightly bend. Should I take rest for a week or continue with my week 6 ?
After Week5 run 3 I have this knee pain when ... - Couch to 5K
After Week5 run 3 I have this knee pain when extended straight, is this ok ?

I did the wrong thing with knee pain just after graduation (I kept running) and it put me out for literally months. Don't run on pain unless someone like a sports physio tells you it's okay to.
If I were you I'd rest, maybe try an ice pack, quads exercises never hurt, and if it's not better in a couple of days then see a sports physio, unless your GP's a sports expert. But proper physio advice from someone who's got your knee right in front of them is money well spent.
Hope you're better soon!
Thanks Mitts, I will take your advice and not risk it further. After going through many articles such as mayoclinic.com/health/knee-... i think better to take rest and see if it goes away. I actually can climb stairs and walk for 30 minutes without any pain, only when I extend it straight I feel a dull pain ...which is bearable.., assuming this is a mild injury I hope that it will cure itself by end of this week. Will stick to milder forms of movement till then ...
Oh dear yes. Just had a google too, you'll have read about 'locking' without pain which sounds like you've got might be a meniscus tear. Do be careful slimboyfat, might be better to get expert advice and treatment now rather than later. On the positive side footballers etc have meniscus treatment all the time and get back into training afterwards.
And I can tell you first-hand that you don't really lose much fitness even after weeks off the programme, it was the pain that stopped me...
Good luck!
Will take rest to see if it goes away this week, else take up an appointment with the doc.
Have put a knee brace for now to provide additional support and encourage healing faster.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
