Woohoooooo New running tracks set for Aberdeen

Just on my doorstep is a lovely park, parklands and forests trails. Our council have plans to revamp it all and map out 3 running routes. 2.5, 4 & 6.5 miles with a shorter 1K loop within the park its self. Now that is something I will really look forward to as our forest trails have really taken a battering this last summer, autumn & now wet winter. For once our council are doing something worthwhile for the residents of the city. Yippeeeeee :)

Hi Oldgirl,

That sounds great! Those of us who are stuck with housing estates and a much smaller park (no trails worth using) to run around are most envious. The short trail I did use during early C25K weeks has been impassable since the end of October and anyway you could run right round it in 10 minutes :-)

I must try and explore some more - maybe there's a better route out there waiting to be discovered!

Check out your local ParkRun venues they are sometimes held in parklands there may be some close by. If you go onto their web site each venue will have a route map.

Yes - our closest is at a golf course/leisure centre. It's only about 20 mins drive but notoriously difficult to park there. One day I'll manage it but must admit Saturday morning is not the best time to get me stirring early and it's also a pain with other family activities. As you can see, I need to stop making excuses first of all (just like starting C25K in the first place :-) )

We do have some very nice paths down by the river - not at this time of year but should be good in the spring.

Hi Ann you rnot on your own for making excuses. I confess that I downloaded C25K then didn't even listen to it for about 3 months let alone go out the front door using it. I still regret all those wasted weeks. Riverside running sounds lovely too, enjoy when the better weather comes in.
