Hi guys. Since upping my mileage am getting knee pain and stiffness in left knee. Mainly below knee cap on inside.no swelling or redness and am not really aware of it as I get into my run but afterwards stiffens up and pain going downstairs.
Anyone tried knee straps and where can I get one?

Be careful. I keep reading about people ignoring knee pain and then ending up having to stop running for quite some time. Better to ease off for a bit, do knee strengthening exercises, maybe slow the pace down and find out about running form (knee problems seem to often be related to how you place your feet as you run) and how to avoid injury. I'd find out more, by googling and reading, rather than just push through it, although that is very tempting.
Have a look at my post on IronMatt's blog (just below this one) about avoiding injury.
It's a little soapbox of mine, sorry. Hope it doesn't sound too bossy.
I was just wondering if you needed new trainers now you have clocked up quite a lot of mileage. So check your trainers out for wear, some extra shock absorber would be good and strength exercises for the knee. X
Thanks guys, I would like to ease off the running but have a half marathon beginning march.....crazy
Didn't run during the bad weather so had a 2 week break which didn't really help/hinder. Had gait analysis done in a running shop when got new trainers a month or two ago.
I have done a lot of reading around knee probs and knee straps keep coming up. The reviews on amazon sound impressive. After today's run have used ice and have a compression sleeve on which feels comfortable.
I am a nurse so might ask one of the docs I work with to look at it.
I just wonder if these running shoes designed to correct pronation are making me step differently as the soreness is inner knee at top,of tibia.
Now this may sound funny, but my son has a bad knee and is a big time runner. After two visits to the physio and having his gait looked at he was told the problem is in his butt! Weak muscles apparently! Go figure!! He has been given all kinds of exercises and stretches and bought a foam roll. So perhaps.....
