Are running socks just a gimmick or are they beneficial?

They are beneficial. You can pick up some excellent ones cheap at Sweatshop.

I like them and have not had any problems with blisters or sore feet.. I buy More Mile ones through Amazon.

These are the short trainer liner type not compression socks which are knee highs. Haven't tried them.

I thought they were gimmicky until I purchased a pair! :-) They wick the moisture away from your skin and help prevent blisters. Gayle

I'm a More Mile running sock wearer same as wilma, love them, they are fitted so no nasty excess of sock to rub your feet. I get mine from Amazon too, 2 pairs for about £6-£7, they last for ages too as they wash well and don't shrink. I have little feet (size 3.5) the size 2-5 fit me perfectly.

I got some Nike Dri fit running socks for Christmas. I wore them at Parkrun on Saturday. Walking across the grass to the start my feet felt damp, but once I got running I never gave my feet another thought, very comfortable.

Essential! Marks and Spencer's sell a pack of two pairs for about £6. Wash well and worth every penny.

I was sceptical before trying them. Very cushiony and comforting. Anything that makes it easier has my vote.

I wear the More Mile socks and, like others, I thought they may have been a gimmick, but now wouldn't run without them

I got karrimor ankle ones from sports direct when I first started out & they were great until I started running more than 8 miles (training for half marathon in march) when I got tiny blisters on the inside of my heels. I invested in a pair of runbreeze double layer anti-blister socks & no more blisters. so, karrimor for short runs & my runbreeze for my long runs. runbreeze £8ish a pair I think. karrimor £4 for 2 pairs.

socks are so comfy that once my teenage daughters used them they loved them so much that I had to buy them some aswell :)

I got some cheap ones at Matalan and they beat regular socks by a mile!

I got mine from lidl and aldi, they are all great, no blisters and they dry super fast.

I wouldn't wear anything else (on my feet, when running!) now. I've got karrimor ones and I love them :)
