Just finished my very first run. Determined to get fit this year.
Need to be cautious because I get a high heart rate if I overdo it so gently gently catchy monkey.. Everything went well though and it's given me a good appetite.
I definitely need to go and get some new gear.
Happy new year to everyone ....keep going!

well done you. I am trying to restrain myself from buying loads of gear at the mo - so far I have just bought some trainers and socks, but am very very tempted!
I have promised myself a proper running jacket/jumper thingy - the ones with the thumb holes in (if yoiu know what I mean) and some proper running trousers/tights when I have completed week 5.......as a special treat - woop woop
Thanks to you all for your best wishes. It feels so much better to think that there are others out there trying(struggling?) to do the same thing.
I am all psyched up to have another go tomorrow!
Can't imagine ever really running any distance but its got to be more healthy than just watching dieting programmes on the telly and thinking about it.
Remember to leave the rest days between runs to let your body recover - you might get away with it in week one, but believe me, you'll be glad of them later !
Well done. It seems impossible to think that in 9 weeks you will be running for 30 mins but you will be. Keep up the good work and treat yourself to some running gear soon, you know you won't be able to resist!
