I think I've now mastered the art of treadmill running but have on the last two runs discovered my stride is shorter hence not covering the distance as I would outside!! Do you find this or is it me that just has not yet the confidnece to stride OUT?
My treadmill running = shorter stride, does yo... - Couch to 5K
My treadmill running = shorter stride, does your's?
I've noticed the same thing oldgirl. I covered less distance when I've run on the treadmill than when running outside, about 25% less. I'm a bit wary of the infernal thing so suppose it a case of being scared of stepping out. Roll on Spring, more daylight and less ice!
I think that would be about the same as me isabella, its quite interesting to compare these things. I find my stride is shorter so I must need to speed up treadmill some more, I was going at 9Km the last time so will try for 9.5-10Km and see what distance I manage in 30 minutes. Heyho as you say roll on spring, nothing like good outside running in my opinion.
I'm convinced I just run slowly on the treadmill as I find it so hard going (and mind numbing), but yes, I cover much less distance normally.
Yes I find I go slower and not as far but find it just as hard work. Hadn't thought It was because my stride would be shorter. it's only recently I managed to work out how to run on the treadmill without hanging on. Although I'm comfortable doing a 5k run in 30min I find setting the treadmill to 10k/hr pretty challenging.
