W7R2 – Frosty start but run done plus that extra minute again...

Today was my first frosty run so on with the gloves as well as the normal layers I didn’t want to overdo the clothing in case I got too hot running and I think I got it right a slight chill during the warm up walk but once the running started I was fine. I knew I was running at a slightly faster pace today because I was further round my route as Laura called out the 5, 12.5 and 20 minute markers. I thought am I going to suffer and not finish as I am going too fast but the pace felt comfortable and I kept up the same technique of setting little targets, next junction, the roundabout, the next big bend, etc so I was not thinking of the pace just “one foot in front of the other” automatically and my mind could concentrate on the mini targets. I had enough once again to keep on for 26 minutes could have done more but maybe I will try that on the last W7 run on Sunday. Distance was 3.922 K today in 26 minutes which is 9.05 kph which is much better than last run prepare myself for set back on next run as its seems too good at the moment.

Brilliant exwightman!! nearly at W8!! You sound like you're really getting to grips with what works for you. I'm had a few mental wrangles with myself during my W7 this week, hope they disappear next week. All the best for your runs to come.
