W6R3 = 22 full minutes of continuous run

Date: Monday 19/03/2018

Time: 5.20am - i.e. middle of the night

Weather:

- approx. 1-2 oC

- snow, frost, ice

- wind

Run settings:

- speed - off

- pace - slower than frozen snail

- stride length - milimiters, few probably could be measured in inches

- run length - minimal

- muscle tension - too big, every time when noticed relaxed for a moment

- tiredness - too big to describe

- muscle soreness - medium

- relative leg weight - tones

- water loss via nose - a lot (6 tissues fully used)

What matters:

- I was out

- I was moving with a millisecond moment of having both legs in the air (no contact with ground), which is apparently definition of running

- I witnessed the time period when night transformed into a day

- I heard bird song

- I saw several very surprised faces of sleepy people going to work

- I (hopefully) boosted my immune system

- I calmed my mind

- I might have burn few calories (so few kcal closer to my wedding dress size)

- 30 min od my day (so far the only minutes) that I really felt alive

Thank you all for support, generosity, kindness, reminders, checking on me, kicking my bottom, messages, just for being here.

You, people on this forum, my family - thank you and happy running!

Very well done IgaT, you are amazing.🌟👏👏

Lovely , amusing and interesting descriptions.

You are on the high ridge now and heading confidently to the summit.

Keep doing what you are doing, the weather has to improve and the warmer oxygen will help.

The early mornings are a pain, but just makes you and your belief, hardwork, and passion more inspiring.

You surely will be rewarded and fully deserve it.

Keep bringing it,as a profession you do it for others and now you must do it for you, and in your own time and busy life.

How is your dog doing, good I hope. Bet you he/she is all nice and warm at 0520.😴😴

👏👏🏃‍♀️ Cheering you on.🌟🏃‍♀️

Thanks :)

My dog looks at me from warm and cosy couch like on a lunatic :P Then she just fells asleep again. She is waking up only after my stretching and shower, when it is more of a daytime instead of insane middle of the night time :P

Your a hoot and a scream. Soooo funny.

Cannot blame the dog really, she is smart. ha ha.

Oh yes, she is :)

Until I came home from work, when after well rested night and day she is fully energised to express her 30 kilo of pure love, excitement and happiness :) Well apart from the moment when she sees a cat when I have to stop my black fury on a lead that is suggested for a dog's over 50kg, regardless I fear that one day it will snap.

She is just waiting for me to finish C25K and consolidated it a little, so she can join in for a happy run once or twice a week ;)

That is a lovely thought Iga. Roll on👏👏.

Not a small dog then.🤔

You are doing great.🌟👏👏🥇It is waiting for you, slow and steady and a long gentle run home 🏃‍♀️👏👏

Well done! I am very impressed with your dedication to your early morning runs!

Thank you. It is surprisingly much easier to convince myself that I have power to do it (when my brain is still asleep) instead dyer work (when I am all exhausted mentally and usually physically, and when all chores are waiting to be done).

The hardest part is waking up and kicking myself out of bed. When I cross this barrier it is all good :)

Very well done. I don't think I could run at that time although I was up... had been for a while🤣 As tired as I might be I do mine after work.

Great post 👍😊

😂 You see, that’s how one SHOULD turn a negative into a positive! Well done Iga! I could learn so much from you. I have been a terrible running drama queen today. You have cheered me up with this lovely post. Good lass! x

Happy to cheer you up. I'm not grumpy now and the run wasn't great itself. Regardless, there are so many amazing things that happened. Moreover, being ill and not running for a week not long time ago I really appreciate the possibility of clearing up my head, pumping up my blood, breathing fresh air.

Now, I am sore and tired, but cannot wait my Wednesday run when there will be warmer, my muscles rested. Still waiting for my running gods to come back to me ;)

Will follow your lead and get out 5:30am tomorrow for a run.

I too enjoy seeing the confusion on the faces of those in thick scaves, gloves and winter jackets as I swoop past in my shirt and shorts!

Oh my! You are one of Those! :P

I'm properly layered, as I hate being cold. I learnt it only recently, so I look a little like a running ⛄ :P But they are really confused how the hell somebody is out running at the time when all wise people are still snoring unless they HAVE TO go to work.

Oh I hate being cold too, and it's horrible to start with, but then I warm-up quickly and am soon building up a sweat and glistening in the lamp light😂

Maybe when I build up my stamina and work on my speed, I will dress lighter. At the moment, I am not breaking so much sweat.

During this hard run, I was answering myself the same question. With every cold breeze, with every little step, I was finding something amazing that gave me strength to make another step forward ;)

In the end, this is the purpose of the hard runs, isn't it?

Yes you're right. It can be horrible at the time but it shows you what strength you have, and afterwards you feel great! Keep running. 😀💪

Thank you :)

Next crazy wake up - tomorrow. I need to go to bed early today, as several recent nights was a bit short for me, so I'm tired. But hey, tomorrow at 5am is supposed to be only -1oC or even OoC and nice sun :) (as soon as it will be wake as well). So it should be nice clear sky morning run :)
