First of all thanks for all the great blogs! They have been a great source of support and encouragement even though I've only lurked until now.
Today I completed W7R2 and I've been lurking since I came across this site by accident on about week 2. I'm not using Laura, but following the course using a phone app that allows me to listen to my own playlists.
I came to C25K after a conversation about a 5K Santa Dash in a pub where all the best ideas and plans stem from...
In the pub I was very non committal but quietly I went away and did a little research and discovered C25K. Not wanting to suffer any extra pressure and fearing failure, I decided not to tell my friends, and swore my wife to secrecy and set about establishing If I would be able to run anything like that far.
Week 1 was a real struggle with me barely able to run for the requisite minute. I knew I was unfit, but that was a bit of a shock. I stuck with it, and gradually I began to feel the benefit running for longer and recovering quicker.
My running is no-longer a secret as I bumped into one of my running friends on a run ( It was bound to happen eventually). His face was a picture when he saw me, but I did get quizzed the next time in the pub.
So now the only part of the idea to put into action is to sign up for the Santa Dash, so why haven't I done it yet............
