Got back home to Oxford today, after two weeks of working in Japan. My last run before I left was w4r3; today I ran w7r1. What a difference those two weeks have made! For the first four weeks, I had chosen a different route to run each week, just to keep things interesting. Today, I ran the Week 1 route... covering the whole loop twice in one continuous run. Nice!
Guess this plan does work!
Now that I am on to longer continuous runs, I decided to check my speed. To run 5k in 30 minutes, an average speed of 10km/h (or 6.25 mph) is needed. Today, I ran 2.25 miles in 25 minutes, for an average speed of 5.4 mph. Not bad -- I was worried that I wouldn't even hit 5mph -- but still some improvement to go. Need to get 16% faster to make 5k in 30 minutes...
