W7R2 and averaging about 7.7 kph doing 3.4km in 25 mins is this really really slow or average for someone who hasn't exercised for 25 years..

Also have noticed W7 runs have decided now is the time to give me blisters on my instep.. is this trainer issues(have been wearing good socks)???

Don't worry about your speed, it is more important that you get continuous minutes under your belt, speed is for after graduation (which isn't far off, how exciting).

When you say good socks, are they running socks (definitely recommend), you can also get double layered running socks so that the sock layers rub, rather than against you.

As Phil72 has already said don't worry about speed it can be worked on later. Blisters can be a real pain but try dabbing surgical spirit on them after cleaned and dry, it nips a bit but helps. I buy my running socks from Amazon called "more mile" pack of two pairs about £7 they are brilliant as they are sized so fit really well my silly little feet. Hope this helps.
