Change of plan...

Up to date, I have on most weeks, ran on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, getting up early and heading out before work. This seems to have worked really well so far, and I have enjoyed getting out first things, as not many people about and it has got the run out of the way. However, this mornings run did not happen, mainly as my son wanted a lift to work, which meant leaving home at 7:30 am, and not therefore having time to do my normal run. However, I am planning to go out this evening, and have made him agree to come with me! Tonights run will be week 7, run 2, and I feel that what ever the weather, I have to go for it! Not done an evening run before, so that may be a challenge in its self not to get involved in anything in the house when I get home, which will stop me from going. As for my son, he feels he is unfit and will not make it! He is 20, and does some sport, and has run 10k in the past. I think he could walk it quicker than I could run the course in any case, but looking forward to perhaps beating him in a physical pursuit for once!!

Sounds exciting running with someone else eh? Do let us know how you got on. I've found I quite like running after work. I actually look forward to it thorughout the day. You might be surprised.

I'm not holding any great hopes that he will come with me, although he does keep moaning that he wants to get fit again!!

Caro8642, our 13 year old made it with us one time and that was back in week 1!! ;-) I think she has a new view of her parents now when we come back through the door and we tell her how many minutes we just ran. We also enjoy evening runs other then the mental challenge of it would be nice to just sit and relax compared to getting outdoors. i hope the weather is nice for you tonight and wishing you much success with r2!! :-)

Did the run, and completed it, all in the dry! Well, had I got wet from rain there would have been a major problem as after driving home in pouring rain, I decided that the treadmill needed to be used. So with snide comments from son about the pace I was going, I pushed on and got to the end. Another run done, one more nearer to graduation!!
