Last Wednesday should have been my graduation run but I went out and after 10 mins the gremlin won and I gave in and walked for a couple of minutes. Tried to run again but it just wasn't happening. I think I had made the mistake I've made before of setting off too fast so chalked it down to a 'bad run' and gave up and headed home. I convinced myself that I couldn't be a graduate until I could go out and run for 30 mins three times in a week so I decided to repeat the week. The first two runs were ok - I can't say they were easy but I got through them. Went out this morning but I guess it wasn't a great idea. I'm working from home today but thought I could nip out for 40 mins or so but of course that would be too easy! I had to take a phone call when I was just 1K in which lasted around 15 mins so there goes that run!
Will I ever be able to consider myself a graduate?? I'm still nowhere near 5k so I'm just going to keep doing week 9 until (hopefully!) it feels a bit easier! Really don't think I can take much more of the podcast music!!!

Don't beat yourself up too much. You've done two 30mins runs. You don't have to run on alternate days in so much that you can leave a 2 day gap and run again. If you can run for 30mins then you basically have graduated. If you went too fast chalk it down to experience and learn from it.
Don't expect to be able to run 5k in 30mins straight away. I still haven't managed it. Initially it took me around 40mins, now just over 32mins - after starting the program at the beginning of the year.
Best of luck Sarah, you'll get there if you keep at it, take it nice and slow and find a comfortable pace. If your sick of the podcast music why not switch to your own playlist? I gave up on the podcast music about W7 and know others on here did too. It might give you a boost to have your own music, it did me.
