The title says it all! I am still in total disbelief that I am into week 7! I never ever dreamed I could go from not being able to run a full 1 minute to running 25 continuous minutes! Each week has been a total challenge physically and mentally, but as long as one follows the program to a T, it is so doable. I still feel very self conscious in public but I am looking around and not seeing anyone my age out there either. This makes me feel very proud that I am off the couch and doing something for my own mental and physical health. I am so happy I started the program when I did and didn't put it off as something i would maybe get around to doing. Thank you to all my fellow runners, without your support and advice here on this board, I honestly do not think I would be into week 7 and looking forward to the prospect of graduation!
I can't believe this 49 year old, out of shape... - Couch to 5K
I can't believe this 49 year old, out of shape Grandma who dreads exercise is into week 7!!!!

I am only a couple of years behind you in age and a week in front on program and couldnt have put it better myself - and I think you are doing great!! I run very early in the morning - and have to change my route to avoid the bin men - but it does get better - well done you! Looking forward to seeing that badge

Fantastic! You are wonderful! Well done for getting so far into the programme. you'll be graduating before you know it and your grandchildren are going to be sooo proud of you! Bet they are already. Go for it!

Fantastic! Well done you - I'm looking forward to seeing that Graduation badge by the side of your name!
Gdean, from an out of shape Grandad to the out of shape Grandma - You're an absolute star. I'm following you so keep on keeping on just so that I don't have an excuse to stop, you're an inspiration for the mature runner

I'm 49 too, and run W8R2 this morning. I was quite embarressed to be seen out and about running at first, but as the weeks have gone by my confidence has grown. I did my first Parkrun on Saturday, Yes running in public with other people.
I'm approaching 50 a much fitter person than I was at 40.
I think I've well and truely caught the running bug.

Well done you! I'm a wee bit older and a wee bit further in the prog but like you I can't believe I've got this far - mostly because of the encouragement and support here. Here's to all the 'older' joggers amongst us!
