Well I can stop my wingeing now. After work I went for a little drive in the country to check out some potential running routes. I just happened to have my gym bag in the car ( in case I fancied visiting the gym to swim ) and by some strange chance (ha ha) I had packed my running kit.
SO I sat there, procrastinated, wondered if my twingey buttock which had eased was up to a little test run .... so I changed, and went back to week 4 ran the first three minutes, walked 90 seconds and then thought b---r it and ran for the rest of the podcast..... result. No real pain, a little stiff today and a little twinge, but yeah, back running.
Going to buy a pair of trail shoes - why run on a road when you can run in the countryside on a track.
SO back on track - now did that run count as W7R1? or shall I start there?
Happy days.

Well done you! I use trail shoes because I prefer to run off road too. Why inhale car fumes when you can inhale silage fumes instead! I've never actually tried road running, maybe I should give it a go. I haven't got to Wk7 yet so can't comment, only just done first run of Wk6.
It makes going out for a run much more of a pleasurable event If I know I am going to be 'in the green' And like you I have not tried road running yet - I live in town that is very boring and rather busy - and yes exhaust fumes v silage ... give me the silage any day!!
Well done for getting to week six - it is definitely when things start to feel like 'real' running now (although I paid for my W6R3 by going somewhere new and rather uneven!) and am just getting a cold - grr. Still hopefully all this lovely country air will keep us healthy and fit. Good luck with the rest of week 6. Enjoy
