Well it's been tough so far but manageable. Then tonight I totally failed about half way through W4R1. I can't say I'm surprised - I'm more surprised that I got this far. I'll take two rest days and then try again.
Epic fail W4R1: Well it's been tough so far but... - Couch to 5K
Epic fail W4R1
It does seem like a big step up from week 3 to week 4, I'm only on week 2 right now but I have done this before, I came back from a weeks recovery intending on doing week 3 but accidentally put on week 4 and thought I may as well go with it. my stamina is so bad so I was so shocked when I managed to do this, got my first sense of a runners high. It could be a psychological thing, maybe you only think you cant do it because of the step up. It may seem simple but when I struggle I simply repeat to myself "I can do this!" being positive really does help. Don't give up. Believe in yourself.
Boudicca...NO!!!! you did NOT fail!! Simples (eek) You my fine little runner went out to run...YOU RAN...regardless of how far how fast how elegantly or how laughable YOU RAN!!!
Thats a damn sight more than a vast number of people would even consider. Well done ((Virtual hug)) proud of ya
Thanks for the support - I need it! At least I got to the half way mark and did actually do a 5 minute run, just couldn't get through the next two. But when I started I could scarcely do a minute, so even failure marks a major improvement.
Boudicca have a rest and come back to it, it works. I failed W4R2 last Wednesday so I took an extra day's rest and today I cracked it and so will you.
Absolutely agree with Chewy. But you haven't failed - you got out there and ran, which is something you couldn't do 3 weeks ago. Don't beat yourself up, some runs just don't go well, for whatever reason. You're doing great, keep going!
Boudicca you ran! That's the point. You didn't hear what was expected of you and give up straight away-you ran! I'm still jogging on week 3-final run on Monday, then I will be joining you on week 4 on Wednesday. I am dreading it as it sounds so hard. If I need to i will do half, and then gradually go up the scale, then when I've completed it i will count that run as run 1 and progress on. What I will not do is force myself to breaking point. Have a rest as chewy say and come back to it refreshed. By the way-well done chewy-so pleased for you.
One little word. Yet. I haven't done it, yet. That's all you need to keep telling yourself. But you will, in fact I expect that by now you probably have. Please post to let us all know how you are you getting on.
Well if you really want an update ...
I went on and did R2 and R3 and was amazed that I could do them. Cogitated over repeating a run to make it three successful ones, then decided to try W5 any way - and I could do it! W8R3 coming up tomorrow, and then it's only a week to graduation. I can't believe I've come this far. The programme rocks.
