Not meaning to boast or anything but, according to my new friend Endomondo, I just ran for 30 minutes exactly, and covered 5.05k! Or 5k in 29 minutes and 36 seconds. I began couch25k on 2 July and followed the plan exactly. I was sixty years old when I started, and right now I feel like eighty-five! Please may I have a green badge?
I did it, I did it, I did it!: Not meaning to... - Couch to 5K
Hezza, it was a piece of cake (snort!). Seriously though, I found W1 a killer, and only just got through it. But every week you look back on the weeks gone by, and think how easy they would be compared to what you're doing now! Fear not, you'll get there, and don't hesitate to ask for help or advice, or to air your doubts and fears - the guys on here are just ace, so motivational. All the best, and thanks.
Aw, thanks Phil, much appreciated. As a recent graduate, and an ex-smoker, you'll know just how hard it was for this (still-smoking) granny to get there! Don't know what next, don't think I'm a natural runner - in fact, I KNOW I'm not - but it seems a shame to waste the smart new pants, the running shoes, and the past couple of months. Maybe try to give up the smokes, and keep running from time to time, we'll see. Many thanks again, and enjoy your 10k journey.
very cool, congratulations!
Big congrats, that's amazing !! You should be soooo proud of yourself. I was doubting myself and the plan until I completed W5R3 at the weekend, never thought I'd run for 20mins and I wasn't too far off the pace for 5k in 30mins. Blogs like yours show that it is possible and I just have to push myself.
Well done again
