Well after the last run I was NOT looking forward to this one at all. But I went out after reading loads of grad posts and deciding that come what may I'm getting my grad badge since it makes me so happy seeing others get theirs - v inspiring.
Anyway, first half was tougher than my mum's roast dinners used to be (yeah, THAT tough lol!) but then I realised that I was concentrating on the running. This might sound really odd, but I don't think focussing too much on what you are doing helps. Well not me anyway.
So I let my mind drift off, started singing along to the songs and the last three minute run I found myself doing at a sprint whilst still singing and humming along. Smashed it! Of course I did realise afterwards as I was cooling down that I was getting some very odd looks, but after discovering I was singing 'so long farewell auf weidersein goodbye' whilst standing at some pedestrian crossings last week, my embarrassment levels seem to have dropped to a new record low too ha ha!
I think that this will be my new technique - let the mind go off somewhere else. I'll let you know if it works on W4R1!!!!
