I have done the first one, and I am writing this to keep me motivated. I managed to run for 30 minutes non-stop and felt great at the end, if a little tired. Thinking about taking part in my local park run, has anyone got any experience of these, as I am quite slow and worried others will fly past me.

Well done!! You are doing really well, you should be very proud of yourself
As for the Parkrun, I would say 'go for it' they are a great activity to get involved in and it doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, everyone does their own thing (well they do at mine!) have a look at the results page at your local event for the last few weeks, it will give you an indication of the number of runners and their times - but don't let either put you off as its a great event. If you post on here for your local one there may even be someone local to you who would be happy to meet up and give you some moral support. Good luck

Well done for getting W9,R1 under your belt. I tried parkrun at the beginning of week 8 and made the mistake of starting out at the speed of the pack, which was much too fast for me, so my advice is to pace yourself and don't start too fast. Everyone at parkrun is very friendly and supportive and I plan to go back once I've got to grip with these 30 min runs.
