C25K+ - How far do you think you run in the St... - Couch to 5K
C25K+ - How far do you think you run in the Stepping Stone new podcast with Laura? Would it be 5k in 30 mins? Thanks
I did it this morning and when I got home plotted my route on Endomondo which was 2.89 miles, which I think is about right.
I tried the first of these podcasts last week and, although I ran to the beat for each of the intervals except the last 5 minutes, it didn't reach 5k. I shall keep trying
I found on the treadmill the stepping stone bpm had me alternating between 8kph and 10kph.
Well, having done the Stepping Stone podcast just once so far, I only covered 3.7K in 30min whereas at my normal pace I cover 4K. To be honest - I expected to increase my distance, not reduce it because I was definatly taking faster steps! It's probably because I ended up taking much shorter srides in order to keep up to the beat. Oh well, I'll stick with it and hopefully it will eventually help me to increase my pace, not reduce it.
I didn't run 5k. Just over 4k. I wouldn't expect to suddenly start running 5k in 30mins as i'm taking a good deal over 30 mins to begin with.
The Podcast is slightly less than 30 mins of running time after warm up.I thought I was sticking to the beat all the way through but had only run 4.2km at the end of the running session. Will keep trying
Same here - although I was running at a quicker speed I didn't go much further than I usually did (about 0.5K more). I did Stamina today and went just beyond 5K in the 35 minutes. It is a mystery because the 150bpm should equate to a 10 minute mile and what with the increases in speed you would think you would be going much further. It didn't happen with me either - I came out with Speed at 10.5 minute mile based on how far I ran. Stepping Stones was around 11.5 minute mile and Stamina was about 11.5 minute mile which is around the same speed I run when I "plod" and I was a lot more kn&ckered! I will keep it up and hopefully my stride will increase but time will tell.
I think it's the length of stride which matters; I usually have a long stride, but when I started doing Stepping Stones my stride got shorter, to get the speed of the steps right. Now I'm getting more used to it (and less scared!) hopefully I can increase my stride again, keeping the rhythm right too.
