You don’t have to run to live here but it sure helps ...

It’s been a busy & stressful time here at Tickle Towers:

Eldest is on his driving test as I type this, at last – having misplaced his licence in the last 72hrs – every inch turned inside out, tempers frayed, tears & tantrums(he was fine) - time for my run I think (W4R2 monday)

Still no licence (W4R3 wednesday) at gym with youngest – she bemoaning the fact I nabbed the last treadmill :) I blame non-competitive sports days giving her the feeling she had the right to have had it – I tell her it’s the “taking part not winning” that counts though so tempted to say “jog on”, but didn’t cos that’s just not PC is it?

Well W4R3 is now done & dusted PB of 51.02 mins (well having a bit of time to kill before aqua I extended the cool down walk by almost 17mins to reach the 5K) I’d like to say I arrived at aqua as fresh as a Daisy but we’ll skip over that part and …

On to rest day (today) woke at 4am inspired by the promise of finding said licence – bingo woke son as soon as dared, only to find said item in pocket of joggers he’d borrowed from middle child, in middle child’s room – threw a few Victors*- waved him off by skin of teeth.

Middle child – yes I’ve heard the syndrome relating to this, but it holds no water with me, probably something to do with my having 2 brothers, 1 older, 1 younger :) Has just phoned for some food to be brought up to his room – where’s Laura when I need her?

Typical it’s her day off & I refuse to sneak peak W5 because there’s no good can come of that. I shall look forward to the joys held instore for Saturday, by then my lot just might make me run for them there hills …. could be safer when eldest son passes me lol

*I don’t belieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve it

Such a funny blog! had me laughing all the way through.. That mad mix that is family life and escaping it with Laura! Well done on your progress so far.. Week 5 is a mental challenge as much as a physical one I think, - you'll do fine. You could incentivise yourself by suggesting to your eldest he comes to pick you up in the car if you're not back in 40 mins! Go for it..

lol I think it would be more like "Mum run me a can of petrol up I've run out, but I'll give you a lift home x"

:( sadly the examiner said "No" only 6 minors after 1 major error, sure he'll learn from the whole thing and my pennies are safer for longer :) as are all us runners lol

My eldest took four tests before his pass. He never knows where his licence is (or his passport, his wallet, his keys, his bank card, his student card, his phone....) I have spent many an hour either searching for his stuff or worrying about his stuff going missing. Hey ho, the joys of being a Mum!

He seemed pretty down yesterday, but I told him to see it as a practice run seeing as we didn't find licence till 3hrs before !! :)

hi oldgirl, next week maybe a bit sporadic with C25K blogs :( am in Coventry for Women's football (only Olympics I want to see) with youngest for couple of days, home for 24 hrs then I'm off with friends for the Welsh 15 Peaks :) at least trying to juggle long hilly walks, aqua classes and "Laura time" is a good excuse to get out of the housework x

Great blog! I'm so glad it is nearly the end of term. The kids need a break but I think I need one more! Have a fab time at the footie and in Wales - sounds awesome! :-)
