I honestly don't know because I didn't start measuring my route until a few weeks after I had finshed the podcasts. I was just so pleased that I could run for that amount of time...it was so much better than being on the couch!

I was running 5k for all of week 9...not to "show off", but because I have a 5k race coming up in August. Needless to say, I wasn't doing it in 30 minutes...my pace right now is around 8k/hr...so I was running over 40 minutes each time.

I'm not at week nine yet, but currently I'm doing around the 4.5kish (lowest I've done is 4.3 yesterday evening, but I did do a 4.6 this morning) mark at 25 minutes. I'm at the end of week six, so I suspect by week nine I'll just be scraping over the 5k mark if I can keep my current pace.

Hope this helps!

I've just looked up my graduation run and it was 1.7 miles so 2.7k. That's on fairly challenging terrain.

All of you are proper runners. I graduated a couple of weeks and just glad to be able to run and a friend actually measured that i can stil only do 3.5 km in 30 mins!! Any tips on improving speed wellcome.

I'm not a proper runner and I ran 3.5KM too. Just wanted to see if I'm alone with my speed. Thanks for your reply.

don;t worry about not doing 5k, on week 9 I was running for 30 mins, but when I mapped my run online it was just short of 4k. Last Saturday a full 3 weeks after graduation I managed 5k, it took me 38 mins but I was so chuffed. You have to go at your own pace, the main thing is to enjoy it! I am loving my running even if I can't manage 5k every time! :-)

When I graduated I was running 4.3k in 30 minutes. Four weeks after graduation I am now running 5.1k in 35 minutes. I have given up, for the time being, trying to do 5k in 30 minutes, I am just concentrating on getting to 5k on each run and still 'enjoy' the running. Keep at it and good luck, you will get there.
