I have a weak ankle due to a very bad sprain 2 years ago despite physio, along with a wonky knee on the same leg. When I run it tends to hurt afterwards. I wear a support bandage and try to go lightly on that side. I can't stop running as I need to get active. I'm only 20 and have a low-average bmi but am not particularly healthy in my habits since the sprain took me off my feet for a good few months and was not seen to until a year after I sprained it as I was told it'd heal on it's own (it didn't). The exercises I was given at physio don't do a huge amount. Will the aching/weakness improve as I continue or will I just have to put up with it?

I would suggest that your first port of call would be to have your gait analysed at a running shop and get appropriate shoes that will support you enough. I had knee pain that disappeared when I got shoes for overpronators.
I haven't the money for anything like that unfortunately and nowhere local does that service! Plus knee problem isn't just pain it's physically wonky. Thanks though.
