Should have read more surgery is not required!

Bad luck - you must be so disappointed! I have been fortunate enough never to have had back problems. Don't give up hope, a friend of mine has had 2 years when he could hardly move. He had surgery and physio then did pilates and now he's riding a bike, swimming and running almost every day. He swears that pilates keeps him moving.

Wishing you all the best and hope you get your running shoes on again soon.

Awww that must be so very painful, hope its settles down soon for you. I had an accident 12 years ago and damaged my lower back, it was twisted and I spent years having to watch what I was doing and being careful how I moved. I discovered a really good Pilates teacher who kept me active duriing the early years of my recovery. I maintain that thanks to her I can not only walk now I can even run too. Good luck for a speedy recovery and hope to see you back before too long.

Ouch; sorry to hear this. I slipped a disk umpty-ump years ago, well 30 actually, by sneezing with a bent back. Disk 'pinged out' and went ricocheting around the room. It plagued me for 25 years and in my fifties I was walking with a stick on a number of occasions. Chirpopractor eventually sorted it out and earlier this week I ran 10K. So message is, stick with it, you'll get through this and keep on running.

I'm so sorry for you, you've been doing so well. I really sympathize because I had a slipped disk too three years ago and had it operated on. I spent a long time off work and hobbled about for ages. I started doing this hoping that nothing would go wrong and so far so good. Do you think the running has aggravated your back or something else? I thought it would strengthen our back and stomach muscles, so help prevent any injury of the sort.

I hope your disk pops back in and that with support you can carry on! Fingers crossed for you.
