I mean the kind of restless, nervy feeling in your legs that comes on at night when you're trying to sleep... it's kind of annoying and I wonder if it's related to the new running regime.
Anyone else got restless legs?: I mean the kind... - Couch to 5K
Anyone else got restless legs?
I've suffered from this for about 30 years and it is definitely worse at times since I started running but I've discovered the secret is to make sure I don't get overly tired. Plenty of rest and early nights has brought it back to pre-running state most of the time.
i get this too but when crashed on the sofa...once i go to bed it kinda sorts itself out. have it more since starting running
I used to suffer from this years ago, but only when I was bored. If I was on the sofa with my wife watching a boring film, my legs would start getting restless.... or when I wake in the mornings and just lay in bed whilst my wife sleeps - that's when they'd start... but I found keeping my mind busy by browsing the internet or designing websites (hobby / part time business) pre-occupied my mind and get rid of any restlessness.
Not had anything since starting c25k fortunately. It was driving me crazy!
A few years back I read several articles about it being related to low ferratin levels/iron deficiancy. Dont know if youve changed your diet since running? Could be nothing related to it, but htought Id mention it. Hope it settles soon-used to drive me nuts at night in bed!
I have a history of restless legs in bed and it has certainly returned since I started this running. The immediate solution at night is to get up and have a cup of tea (decaffeinated!). I find when I get back to bed the legs have stopped being restless and I go to sleep immediately. You could try this. Good luck and if you find another solution please let me know?
I used to get it when I was pregnant, called it restless leg syndrome! It came back briefly when I started c25k but has gone now, thank goodness. Horrid feeling, Hope it goes soon x
Ta everyone for the really helpful advice, I'm grateful to hear that it's not just me! Haven't had an episode in a few nights so fingers crossed it was just in the first week or so. (W3R1 done - man those three minutes were a stretch, but I did it)
I get this from time to time but pretty constant since staring this, I'm on my feet all day at work too so not from being inactive
I've had restless legs for 25 years. Really disturbs my sleeping.
