Oh NO!....Not again.....

So did two 5k runs last week after being off for 10 days with a groin injury, ( I usually do another longer run on top of these two ).

Must admit felt a little sore afterwards but wasn't sure if it was due to the injury or just not having run for 10 days.

Have been in London to see the tennis this weekend so quite a lot of walking, but I am used to that, being a proud owner of a beautiful black Lab.

Plan was to do a steady 5k today and Wednesday and my long run on Friday, but after walking said Lab my groin was really painful again.

Am so fed up and don't know what to do.

Should I maybe take a longer break from all exercise until completely pain free?

Can't bear the thought of not being able to run for that long. but rather that than never again!!!

Help me please....completely fed up ! :(

Gypsy...I'm sure no "trainer" (you may want to see my blog today before you take any of MY advice...lol)...but I'd really knock back those 2 5k runs...go for time, not distance...maybe 15-20 minutes (I know, hardly worth tying your shoes on, but) and possibly ice the area (gasp!) and take ibuprofen (or whatever works for you) to reduce inflammation. Stick with that this week....and maybe next...it will keep you loose, but perhaps not aggravate it any more.

Good luck...I hate it when I'm running injured, just takes all the FUN out of it...LOL!

to be honest gypsy i would take a break and let it heal , it sometimes takes a while to heal gramma seems to have som good advice, painkillers. ibuprofen, rest and elevate , its best to get bk into it when your properly fit and it wont take you long to get your fitness bk, just do little bits and take it steady you take the dog for a walk dont let her take you . I have a black lab too and my god they are energetic lol . take it easy m8 x

Thanks maddy.

I think you're right...Have decided to take 2 weeks off completely...and just do dog walking , no gym, and no running for a fortnight.

Walked Nell for nearly 2 hours this morning but let her run about and swim while I barely put one foot in front of the other!

Really frustrated but will not panic about losing fitness...only takes 9 weeks after all !

Anyway, how you doing? Waiting for the grockle invasion ? !

Thanks for caring x

I am doing ok thanks looking forward to my race for life in july oh and looking forward to summer starting sometime soon although makes it a bit trickier to pick times to go for runs. take care and rest up. xx
