This may sound like a silly question but when is the best time to run- today W2R1 I went as soon as I woke up 0600 however I hadn't had a drink or any thing to eat ...is this a mistake? I don't find it easy but will keep trying

I go first thing before breakfast. I have a few sips of water first. I've heard bananas are good for a little energy. I couldn't run on a full stomach. I also don't run well in the heat so go early morning.

I usually go in the late afternoon, though this week it's been about 9pm instead because it's too warm earlier. I let my tea go down for a couple of hours and then went. I felt a bit sick towards the end but was mainly fine. I can't go in the morning, because I am not a morning person! :-D

Lol. I am sooo not a morning person either but c25k seems to have helped change that. I'm weird!

You need to experiment and find a time of day that suits you - everyone is different. I am a typical 'morning person', and the thought of being out early in the sunshine was great. But when I tried it, I had one of the worst runs. So my best time is actually early evening, which I never would have guessed at before I tried different times.

I am usually an evening runner, I am useless in the morning and struggle to get out of my pit, let alone go for a run.

However as an experiment I'm going to try running tomorrow first thing as it looks like to will be hot again and I don't fancy running in the sweltering heat again like yesterday as I thought I would melt so I will let you know how I get on.

I go ealrly morning, usually at 5 during the week or 6 on a weekend. I've found just having a small glass of fruit smoothie before I go out works for me! Running in the morning just seems to give me a kick start for the day and I know if I left it until after a days work it would be too tempting not to do it!!

OK back from my AM run - set alarm and got up at 6.15am - it was a struggle as I really do love my bed but actually I have managed a 30 min run with no major problems and now I feel pretty chuffed with myself.

It was nice and cool at first but towards the end it did start to get a wee bit warm but nothing like running in the afternoon. I also enjoyed that there were less people around - bit more peaceful as well as less witnesses to my huffing and puffing and wardrobe malfunctions (my shorts are getting a bit loose and kept falling down - classy).

Overall, I'm not sure I want to do all my runs in the morning but on hot days it certainly makes sense and its nice to know I can d this and have a range of options at my disposal. :D
