W1R1 - Here I Go.......

After complaining about being over weight and not committing to any exercise seriously for the last 15 years I have finally decided to get up and do something about it.

I have just completed W1R1 this evening and feel much better for it. Before hand I was really paranoid about what people would think seeing me in my "running gear" but after starting up the pod cast and putting in my headphones I was in my own world and did not really worry what people thought.

I must admit I was surprised how hard I found this. At first I thought that 8 1 minute runs would be quite easy but after the 3rd run my legs started to remind me just how unfit I am. I hope that as I progress through the course things get easier and I start to feel the benefits!

Well done, you've taken the first steps on your own Incredible Journey ! There'll be difficult runs and wonderful runs but, if you stick with it, you will gain so much more than you expect from this program. Don't count on immediate weight loss - but you will tone up and the weight loss will probably come later. Just enjoy feeling fitter, healthier and happier :-)

Well done you on starting. Don't worry about what anyone thinks, anyone that would think anything negative has I would guess never got off their backside and tried running, either that or they are thoroughly nasty, so who cares what they think. Personally I think anyone that has ever run or at least tried to will look at you with admiration.

I can guarantee it won't always be easy and some runs will be runs from hell, those runs I imagine my husbands ex wife watching and there's no way I would let her watch me fail. So mind over matter has always prevailed. You will at times have a fantastic self confidence that will make you walk that little bit taller. Good luck, stick with the programme and we look forward to seeing you graduate in 9 weeks

Well done for getting started, achy legs is a small price to pay for the many gains that unfold as you go through this programme, I'm loving it.

Keep posting as you go and good luck.

I wanted to give up after the second 1 minute run in week 1 run 1 but somehow, i got through it. I think we all worried about what people think when we started but that thought soon goes away.

In the beginning a different part of my body ached after each run, but that was probably due to shock of doing something.

Keep with it ,take it easy and you will finish each run.

Well done, good for you. Your right about the headphones and listening to Laura, it definitely transports you to a different place. If it was easy, it wouldn't be doing you so much good! Just remember, even if your very slow, your still running faster than those on the couch, good luck and keep posting!
