if you dont get pain in your knees at any other time then this could well be the reason. are you able to get somewhere for a treadmill/gait analysis?

I didnt get any leg pain until I started running outside & new trainers did the trick.

advice now ~ dont run on the knees if the pain gets any worse or if the pain is noticeable in normal every day stuff. I did this & had to take a month off running. sometimes a couple more days of rest is all you will need.

good luck & well done on getting up to week 7 :)

Thanks for your reply. How do you find somewhere that does gait analysis and is it expensive? Also a bit worried that that sort of thing is for serious athletes only, will I look like a bit of a numpty...?

if you are out there running then you are a serious runner :)

if you google gait analysis then you should hopefully find someone in your area. I went to dw sports. they have treadmills in 2 of the 3 local shops. I found trainers but they were out of my budget in the shop (asics gt-2160 were £65). man in the shop gave me the "model no" saying I wouldnt find them cheaper but I managed to get mine on ebay for less than £30, but did buy them from an ebay sports shop. my local dw sports wasnt pushy at all & were happy to help when both me & my daughter went in on separate occasions.

also, buy the next size or half a size up to your normal shoe size as your feet do swell once you start doing the longer distances & you dont want to lose any toenails :)

& take your regular trainers with you for the analysis. the video footage that they show you afterwards comparing your running is well worth the visit.
