shin splints!!
I suffered with sore shins in week 2 after i had finished my runs. I just continued with the program and now i dont have that problem. i think in my case it was more to do with the fact my body was in shock i was doing something! Keep going.
Hi. Shin splints were the Bain of my life !! Notice the "were" mine were so bad I couldn't do more than a minute without extreme pain. I pushed it and pushed it and then got to a point where even walking hurt. That was a few years ago and I was gutted. That was a few years ago started the training program again recently and same thing happened. Then I came across an article about bare foot running and it's fantastic. Basically run without shoes - problem solved !!! I kid you not the pain went immediately. Traditional trainers make u heel strike where as running barefoot you naturally land on your mid foot and no pain !! Google bare foot running , I have just bought some minimalist trainers from amazon for outside that make your feet act like its barefoot and it's great. Am now in week 4 with no pain and not had any pain at all. I too was gutted about not running till I tried this and was delighted. Let me know if u want to know what the trainers are called they were about £45 and are excellent !
thanks for the advice guys i will look up barefoot running as i saw a runner the other day in some very what i thought was flimsy trainers but maybe not!
