Well done... dynamic stretching, beforehand ,remember... and plenty of stretches afterwards
Try to land lightly too... we do have a tendency some of us in these early runs ( and even later on sometimes:)) to thump down a bit with our feet...Try to land gently...It is what I call kissing the ground with your feet.. it works..
99% sure - i started the C25K earlier on in the year and suffered for the first couple of weeks, but it seems to have caught up with me a little later in the programme this time, not quite as bad luckily.
Just hoping for a bit of advice to minimise the pain, and the duration really.
If it's shin splint you could do with getting a physio referral from your GP.
You shouldn't be running!
Running is all in the calves and in new runners they are weak. So we have to build them up safely. A physio referral will help with that as you will get specific exercises to do, e.g. Heel drops, foot lifts etc but in a timely fashion to suit your problem.
I did exercises for weeks and weeks, with no running. When I got back to running it was only for 2 mins every third day. It's very serious! I thought I had definitely fractured my leg as the pain was so severe
It wasn't severe at first so I kept running. Don't make that mistake. Get to your doc!
Ah that doesnt sound good. I have only persevered as it occured previously but only for a week or 2, and then felt fine, so was hoping to get to that stage again.
They are not exctruciating, so wasnt overly concerned.
