Just completed Week2, but I am going away for ... - Couch to 5K
Just completed Week2, but I am going away for 4 days and unable to run. I'm worried this will stunt my progress. Is it ok to have a break?
Yes - I am on week 9 but it has taken me much longer than 9 weeks! I have sometimes only managed 1 or 2 runs a week, after starting originally in January, having 3 weeks off for injury and starting the programme again mid-February! The max break I have had is 10 days (other than the 3 weeks), and I did struggle a bit, but it doesn't set you back massively. Certainly 4 days wouldn't. Could you not take your running kit with you and run when you are away though? I find it quite exciting to run in places I am unfamiliar with when I am away, though I did nearly get lost when I went for a run near my in-laws house over Easter! I had told my husband to come looking for me in the car if I wasn't back within an hour, and I was only 10 minutes short of the hour! LOL!
I haven't been out since Sunday night so that's 3 days. My friend only goes twice a week. You'll be fine. Is there any other exercise you could do in those days?
4 days is fine but if you feel a bit nervous just repeat one wk 2 run and then go on but I would just go straight to wk 3 when you get back.
4 days is fine I wouldn't worry about it too much.
