W2R2 .... On the road again...

Ok silly I know to miss a rest day, but we felt that messing up routine will have more of a negative effect...and make us think o its ok to miss another... Etc.

But today went awesome, the first two runs hurt and I didn't feel I had a groove... But on the third one... It all came together and my breathing got easier, and settled in to a nice pace(for me anyhoo lol)

I didn't go as far today, but just completing and not stopping was great... I need to adjust my diet now.. Cause I just ate a big meal and I now feel guilty for it... Knowing it was more than I needed... Its the eating I think I struggle with.

Your comments on my last post were amazing and have kept me going today.

so one more run nd I am on to week 3.... Not sure how my asthma will cope... But I am not going to give up... I really want to run 5k without stopping.... :-D

Until next time keep trucking.... You stay classy san Diego?

Glad today's run was good! You will get to 5k non stop just trust the programme :)

I cheated with rest days early in the program without adverse effects. Just bear in mind that when the runs get longer the rest days are even more important.

Remember that rest day really only means "not running day" Your body will be very busy doing the work that will enable you to move forward smoothly. The programme says 9 weeks but if do a session every other day you graduate in less time but still sticking to the programme. If this is a new habit for life, then there's no rush. It's mind training not just body training.

I do understand the itchy feelings though! Maybe find something else active to do on the non-running days, less high impact?

I have found doing yoga or other stretching excercises good to do on non run days - it is good to try and work the core and arms etc as well and is really good for stretching out those tired and tight legs! Keep it up
