Argh! What *is* it with week six?

Both of week six's runs so far have been killers. Completed them both but they were both really tough, much tougher than any week or run up to this point. It hasn't been helped by the wet conditions meaning I have had to run on the streets rather than cross-country, which seems harder on the calf muscles and where I live it's much hillier! I think there's something mental in it too - when you know you only have ten minutes to run you keep thinking it should be over any second, but on the longer runs you settle in and just keep going.

Duncan i think everyone finds week 6 a struggle to be honest.. i know i did, but the main thing is you are pushing through and completing them which is great.. im 6 wks post graduation and still find some runs torturous but i know i can do it so i keep on running.. you are doing fantastic.. keep it up, you can do it!!

I found the week 6 runs 1& 2 the hardest, just doesn't make sense does it. It really must be a mental thing, just keep pushing and you will get through it. You have got this far, keep with it, it gets better. :)

Me too! Runs 1 and 2 of week 6 were awful for me. I think it must be a mental thing as much as anything. Keep going though as you WILL be able to do run 3!!!

Don't worry week 6 gets everyone! I felt absolutely awful when I did it - very disheartening! But trust me it gets better! You're doing brilliantly so keep it up! :)
