Im obviously not a fast runner and it is taking me going towards an extra 10 minutes to get to 5K. Roll on May and the new podcast to get me running faster.
Are you running 5k after week 9?: Im obviously... - Couch to 5K
Are you running 5k after week 9?
I wasnt, it took me another two weeks at least after graduating to get up to 5k, dont worry about it!
I graduated on 19 March and whilst I can do 5km it does take a lot longer than 30 mins....my best time so far is 39 mins.
Keep going and you will get faster in time.
No - I'm 3 weeks post-grad and still 40 mins plus for 5k..... but getting better
It was taking me about 40 mins to run 5k. I then entered a parkrun and did it in 34 mins even though all the way through I thought I was struggling lol!
I finally did the full 5k on my 3rd run after graduation. Much as I grew to depend on Laura, listening to my own playlist made all the difference and my speed seemed to gradually and painlessly increase with the beat! Listening to my favourite songs rather than the podcast seemed to distract me too and before I knew it 5.4k just happened in the 30 mins.
I just finished week 8 run 1 and ran 4K, so I wouldn't have thought I will be doing 5K by then. My husband did week 9 run 2 the other day and ran about 4.6K, so I guess it's possible, but I think it will be a little while afterwards before we are running the full 5K.
It's taking me 36 mins (3 weeks post graduation) but I'm still getting improvements and I think it's because my stride is lengthening.
