Just gave my new trainers a spin at the gym - I got them last week from Runners Need and the guy suggested I try them out on a treadmill first in case I had to swap them (so they wouldn't be all mucky and unsaleable). They were lovely - oh, how I love them <3
Can highly recommend the shop (I went to the Great Portland Street branch in the West End of London) - they have not one but 2 treadmills all rigged up with a video camera system so you can get an instant gait analysis and they draw lines on your ankle on the screen to show how your foot rolls (or not). I knew from a podiatrist's analysis that I over-pronate (foot rolls into the centre) but I've had my bunions done since then and I think my biomechanics have improved since the op. So yes, it turns out I still over-pronate but not too badly and there is a shoe for me - apparently I have a 'Brooks foot'! They are a lot less clunky than my old ones (which were properly fitted, but about 8 years ago, again pre-op), so my only regret is that I left it so long to get them (I've completed C25K already).
Anyway, retail therapy over for now...... although they do make these in several different colours.....hmmmm :-). Cheaper on the Internet now that I know which ones to get......
Hope my ramblings are of some help
