just finished week 1, run 2. So excited to be doing this. Any advice from all you pros out there on how fast I should be walking and running?

I think the only answer to that is as fast as you can such that you still finish.

The important thing to me was completing rather than speed. But that said there is no satisfaction in going really slowly if you can go faster so you have a trade off!

A lot of the first few weeks though is finding 'your' pace. There is no right or wrong except when you go so fast you keel over before the end :-D

If you watched me I really don't run much faster than my brisk walk, its just a different motion.

On average I do 4mph (think that's 6.4kph)

As Greg has said its more about focusing on completing the sessions and not worrying so much about speed or even distance.

good luck with W1R3 :)

thanks you've encouraged me - I average 6.5km/h when running and I am on week 9 - glad I am not the only slow coach! :D

Thanks guys. I'm at about 6. 3 kph for my walk and 8.0 for my run so I guess that is ok. Managing that quite nicely. Will experiment to be sure I am challenging myself a bit but not doing too much too fast.
