Slow and steady. You should run at a pace allows you to hold a conversation. That will be different for everyone depending on their fitness, so what works for you will be different to your daughter. Trust the program, don’t try to push too hard and injure yourself. The pace will come eventually, but maybe not in this 9 weeks.
Slow, steady, relaxed, comfortable- the pace that feels good for you. With all due respect to your daughter, your running is YOUR running and you must do the pace that is right for you. You will probably speed up a bit with experience anyway - and if you want to, you can work on speed after graduation. 😄
Slow is good. Don't try to keep up with a faster runner. Or listen to advice about what pace you should be doing! My sister thinks we should be running faster. I told her I have no intention of speeding up yet! We aren't running 5k yet so that's my target, not times!
None of us are experienced runners otherwise we wouldn't be using this app so I would agree with all the other comments that you should keep it nice and slow. Once you start building up to the longer runs if you are going too fast you will end up not being able to finish or injuring yourself. There is no right or wrong I guess as we are all individuals with different levels of fitness and ability. Do what you are comfortable with and listen to your body. I am recovering from injury and run much slower than I used to but I have had to adjust and be realistic. A year ago I couldn't walk without crutches so I'm just grateful I can run at all lol. Run at your own pace and enjoy it!!!
