Boats and temptations - week 8 (that should have been 7).

Well, I was supposed to be doing W7 run 3 yesterday down on the south coast. Staying down there on my own for the night at Milford on Sea - anyone know it? Got my running gear on and discovered that somehow my iPod had deleted all the podcasts 1-7, how I don't know. So, what to do...

Decided to play week 8 and stop a bit before time so off I set.

My normal route at home has no temptations at all but here - oh my! Cafes offering delicious treats, the ice cream van, pub with lovely garden just right for sitting having a beer and numerous benches strategically placed to welcome weary legs.

Guys, you would have been proud of me! Not only did I avoid temptation (the fact I had no money with me helped) but I actually ran the whole 28 minutes. Woohoo.

Such a fab place to run too, boats on one side of me and a very fit young man running the other way on the other. The run was almost pleasurable!

On another note, ladies if you enjoy reading a bit of good chick-lit try Mum on the Run by Fiona Gibson. Extremely readable and very funny.

Well done you - I find the "not taking any money" strategy really helpful. Depending which direction I run I either have to pass a shop that bakes doughnuts or a shop that makes bacon sandwiches. It's not just that I know they do, it's the wonderful smell!

Well done and Milford on sea is a lovely place, it's got a fantastic bit of coastal defence work, ;)

I think you can say week 8 is doable and I wouldn't bother with the rest of week 7 and run on to the rest of 8.

Yes, I think that is what I will do. The music is better anyway..albeit with Julie!

It is scary to think that week 9 is now in sight...I don't know why but it seems really daunting.

Well done you!!! Sounds like you had a great run :-) Ha ha, I always worry about what music the next week holds in store - I start Wk 4 this afternoon - not dreading the run, more the music, but so glad to escape the folksy/seashanty type music on Wk 3 at one point ;-) There is no reason for wk 9 to be daunting for you, its TWO more minutes - that's all - just 2 measly little minutes and you can run 28 of the darned things! :-) Go you!!!

Ha ha - you have made me feel much better! Thank you...

Pesky minutes are exactly what they are.

The music in week 7 is pretty dire. Hopefully I am going to try and do my own thing to my music soon. On the day after my run I went for a walk down Hurst Spit which took 30 mins each way walking on stones. My music really helped me stomp my way down and back.

Plan to do week 8 run 2 tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed.

I loved your blog post.

You've done brilliantly and soon you'll not be needing any podcasts so you can have whatever music you like, or you may decide not to have any at all.

Not what you're looking for?
