We are mindful that this is a difficult time of year for some of our running friends for many reasons. We are here over the festive season, so do continue to let us know how you are.
Hopefully everyone will fit in one or two runs even if they are shorter than usual… or a good walk in the fresh air! If you are snowed under with preparations cooking and entertaining …..do a few squats & toe raises in the bathroom.. a couple of shoulder rolls and take a deep breath…
Some of you may enjoy a Christmas Run tomorrow 🎅 🤶… have fun!! 🤩
On behalf of the Admin Team we wish you well over the festive season. Enjoy 🎁

I wish you Annieapple, Oldfloss and the rest of the admin team all the very best , a Merry Christmas and a very happy 2025, I will run a short run today Christmas Eve and another on Boxing Day and probably go a short walk on Christmas Day, have a wonderful holiday 🎄✅🍰
Hi Annie, I have just come back from the first of those two runs, glad to tell you that I had negative splits on that 3K run, I ran around the park only a two minutes walk from where I live, my overall time for that 3K was 21,40,the negative splits were 7.35/7,18/6,45, when I got home I treated myself to a Christmas 🎄 mince pie, my second short run will be on Boxing Day when I intend to run on the exact route I ran on June 16th 2018, which was run 2 of week 9 of C25K, that's a 30 minutes run which will bring back memories to me.
🍏🤩⭐️ You are a legend Al & example to us all!! Wow you deserved that mince pie .. fab treat! Enjoy the memory run on Boxing Day… those are always the special ones! 🎄🥰
Thanks to you AA and all the Admin team for the wonderful support you give to us. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.
Thank you lovely admin team for cheering on all of us runners - you are an amazing bunch and I'd love to buy you all a drink! I've just returned from my 5k run before I get stuck into Christmas food prep. A Happy Christmas to you all!
Thank you for this!!! I really needed it because all this cheer is getting to me because I am struggling with my parents slowly disappearing due to dementia... It's hard! And it gets harder when seemingly everybody around us is cheerful. So thank you for seeing the struggle!!!
Planning to do some Pilates shortly and doing a 10K run tomorrow.
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 That is so very hard and sad! I feel for you as my bestie has Alzheimer’s and we are losing her bit by bit. SO pleased you can do a good run tomorrow and have some headspace. Running is a remarkable gift that offers us solace, comfort and an antidote to stress! Thanks for that Pilates link.. a great idea!
Thank you, Annieapple ! Your comment prompted me to look up yet another resource that I had filed somewhere in the back of my head: ambiguousloss.com/
Ambiguous loss describes this "in between" loss that happens when a loss happens but is somehow socially not recognized, like the slow disappearance with dementia (or the literal disappearance of a person, which is, I think how the concept actually originated, when nobody knows if the person is still alive or not...).
Thank you for this post. I was feeing pretty low this morning - I am on my own and it’s not long since my husband died - but the reminder, that not everyone enjoys Christmas and that getting out for a run is a good move, was just what I needed. I have just finished Run 1 Week 6 and am feeling much better, mood lifted and ready to face the rest of the day.
I hope everyone on health unlocked has a great day.
🍏🤗 Oh a hard day for you indeed but yay for running!!! Your husband would be SO proud of you! That’s a tricky run too so extra well done… 👏 Hugging you in my heart! Xx
