I’ve returned to C25K and coping fine fitness wise, but I’m getting a pain in my left glute after running. Any tips for what I can do to help get rid of this and prevent it

Head across to the S and F Forum for some useful exercise, but, if the pain persists then do get it checked out by a medical expert?

you can never go wrong with a bit of rolling (at least as long as there is no sharp pain involved)

If you search for glutes or posterior chain on H&F at healthunlocked.com/strength... you’ll find some additional ones.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jadamski and CBDB , I was wondering how things are going with the foam rollers, and whether there's a particular type you might recommend? I'm going to try using one because I still have glute pains and they're really starting to interfere with my running! Thank you.

I fear between me and my husband, we have quite a few foam rollers.

See image on this post healthunlocked.com/strength... and it doesn’t even include the stick-roller.

I find it depends. The hard, structured ones are great for upper legs. But the really long ones are great for upper back.

In our household, we fight who gets to keep hold of this one or that one (I now usually work out in a guest bedroom as my rower is there, hubby usually works out in our living room workout corner, as his weights are there)

For glutes, my feeling would be that I’d go with a structured one (the yellow Green one in the linked photo)

Not sure this helps, as it can be quite a personal choice. But good thing is that they do have a tendency to multiply… at least in our household. 🤣

Brilliant! 😂

Thanks very much, and I'll get a structured one... at least to start with! 🤣

I’m having a session with one of the trainers at the gym I go too on Friday and I’ll let you know how I get on
