Run with son (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it)

Morning everyone, I’ve returned to C25K after an extended break. I got up to HM distance in my previous plan, so know how well it works. To make things slightly more complicated I’m bringing my 13 year old son along for the ride this time! Does anyone have any tips for this? We’re on week 5 and the set up currently is that I have Jo playing through my headphones and he just runs when I run! Thanks everyone and happy running!

I don’t have any advice as my running companion is my pooch who runs when I run…but it’s so lovely that you are sharing your journey with your son. Wishing you every success!

I've done a couple of runs with sons.

When I ran with middle son during C25K the app glitched and we ended up running for about three times as long as we should have! He was impressed with 'how hard' the program was 😂

Only advice from me is to suggest when they run and walk but if they want to go faster or slower just let them get on with it. It's being together that's important, not the numbers :)

Absolutely! Loving the time together. Not talking that much but having a good laugh about how knackered we are!

Could you not let your son join C25K as well? I think he would probably enjoy the reinforcement that the app offers. Just hit 'go' at the same time...?

What a great thing to do together.

I may try that. I’m just worried they’d be out of sync, because he’s got a much better phone than me, I’ll see him running off into the distance 🤣
