What a beautiful morning for a run! A definite nip in the air which made it all the more pleasant, but a definite sign that Autumn is rapidly approaching ☹️

It was the first attempt at five lap Friday (5 laps of the lake for those not in the know), so longer than Laura's 30 minuters, which come in at about 4 and a third ish. It was quite liberating to go for a run without Lura though, knowing it was all about a distance and not time today.

I wasn't totally on my own, my OH who did C25K years ago but never kept it up came a long (and showed that yoga, pilates, tai chi and rock box apparently do work for keeping up the running fitness levels); so with a bit of company the pace was a bit faster than I would have set if I'd been by myself.

And it was all a good success, lapping in about 6 mins and 20 seconds consistently (even did a sprint finish for the last 75 meters!) which is going to be about a 42 minute 5k. I'll take that, now it's just a case of slowly building up the distance to get to that magical figure, I reckon about half a lap a week should see it done sensibly, but for next week it'll be 2 days out with my bestie Laura, and then a 5 lapper on Friday.

Thanks for reading!

(ps, I still can't believe w1 started at 60 seconds, and the apprehension at going to 3 minutes and then 5! Now I'm doing over 30 and enjoying it. Slow and steady does the trick, keep running folks, and trust the programme).
