Keep going & listen to your body (& your head)😀

just finished week 7 (3 x25 mins) and starting to really enjoy running again ( well almost).

My normal route involves quite a bit of uphill country lanes and has tended to limit me to around 4.5 mph. In recent weeks I have taken a short drive to a local park for the final run of the week. This is mostly flat and interestingly has increased my average to just above 5 mph ( also run with a fitter friend on this one which definitely helps).

Turns out the uphill struggles have unconsciously been a blessing and is slowly increasing my leg strength and stability.

I have had niggles in every part of my legs along the way and slowed down when my body tells me to (also use knee straps which have been a saviour for 63 year old me!).

Overall though it is definitely your mindset that keeps you going!

I have still some way to go but the 5K goal is in site. As we head into the weekend my message would be “do whatever you can but don’t stop doing something and be proud that you didn’t give in to the little voice that doubts you”

Thank you and congrats to you also.

Enjoy the outdoor run… and listen for the birds if you go for an early morning….

Good luck … all the way to week 9!

Best wishes to you also Crunner.

Can recommend an early morning run if you have somewhere local where you feel comfortable.

Having said that I limped around the park this morning in the rain and even the Mallards were looking at me with a puzzled look 😀
