So the plan for a Christmas morning run was scuppered by more frankly ridiculous winds so I have just got back in from starting Week 3 on a lovely, calm and sunny boxing day afternoon. Very quiet out there, most people probably prepping Xmas Dinner round 2, the 3 days rest since my last run had definitely helped with the aching ankles and calves.
The step up to 3 minutes felt fine for the first one (very slow and steady Floss) but have to admit that last 3 minutes was tough.
But hey ho, it is still very early in this comeback journey although from Week 4 it all begins to ramp up a bit.
I'm tentatively targeting the Blyth 10k in early April but we shall see how things go once up to 5k.
Hope everyone had a memorable day yesterday and some of you got out for runs, enjoy the rest of today also.
Run happy, run safe.

🍏Really lovely here in the NE today! It’s so good to have a future goal to work towards. It helps one focus on the immediate goal of getting through Week 3. Don’t worry about the longer runs. As you know these smaller runs and walks are preparing you for that. You are doing well taking extra rest days when you need to. Try running even slower, very slow, at the beginning so you have room left in the tank for the last part of the run. An important lesson for later when you do your Blyth race.. start slow, amp up a little in the middle and run your best at the end!
