Start with the Bridge to 10k forum on here. There’s loads of advice and plans. Don’t be put off by the 10k label - everyone starts somewhere!

In the absence of any kind of formal plan, have a look back at your now-completed C25K program. In particular, look at Weeks 7, 8 and 9 ... taking you from 25 mins, to 28 and then to 30 minutes.

In general terms, use that same principle of 'adding on a bit extra every week' and you will reach 6k quite comfortably. At every step-up, say, having added on 2 or 3 mins to each run to Week 9, or your 'Week 10' or 'Week 11', you should do the same run 2 or 3 times, just like C25K ... this is called consolidation and it's a gentle way of getting the body and mind used to the new running duration (and hopefully, distance).

I hope that helps.
