I knew about parkrun because of posts in here and this came up in my news feed, I read and thought well worth sharing for anyone who feels they might like to join.blog.parkrun.com/uk/2023/09...
Looking at the photo, I'm slow because while everyone is walking or running off I'm taking photos so have a bit of catching up ๐

๐Thanks Sue. Park Runs are what motivated me to run in the first place. My sister took me dragging & screaming to one and assured me I could walk it! I did walk it & loved it so much. There were lots of people my age running so decided to try out running in secret ๐คฃ Googled how to run and came across C25k & the rest is history I then managed 2 park runs before COVID.
I try not to stop for long! I take out my phone and find the camera setting while running lol! Then speed up a bit after taking a quick photo to make up the lost time!!
My current ratio is 4 parkruns to 2 volunteering. I usually take photos mid run when I'm taking a walk break, last week I did just as we were about to start so as everyone ran off I was still fumbling my phone into my pocket but it doesn't make much difference to me, I'll never get fast times so am happy to just enjoy myself.I may be able to volunteer before I can run after my eye thing
We ran at Bushy parkrun last year, an amazing experience! Please note everyone parkrun is a small p and all one word. ๐๐ I am that person ๐๐
I love parkrun. My friend told me you could walk it in Dec 22, till then I thought it was just for runners so I signed up. I've done 34 now, part of my fitness routine. Volunteered a few times too. It starts my Saturday off with a walk in the park. Love it
